*The aspect general of the
cocker spaniel is that of a small athlete cob, i.e. that the length
between the garrot and attaches it tail is equal to the height with the
garrot.
*The head of the cocker spaniel must give a show of force, power and
elegance on a small body. The muzzle is quite square, the well
developed cranium and the nose is sufficiently broad to allow the
smoothness of the sense of smell. The eyes fill the orbits well. They
will be always darkest possible harmonizes some with the dress. They
express the intelligence and softness.
*The jaws are strong and offer one articulated complete out of
scissors. The neck length moderate and muscular elegantly attached to
fine and oblique shoulders. The members have a good framework, they are
right and sufficiently courts to give a concentrated power.
*The body is strong and compact. The chest is well developed and the
well centered coasts. The short and broad kidney, the line of back is
firm soft inclined energy towards the tail.
*The back-hand is broad, quite round and very muscular. The members
have a good framework. The grasset is well angled. The feet are firm
with thick bearings, one says that they are in " feet of cat ". The
whip usually is curtailed (still authorized in France, but you will
find pups with long tail more and more), attached
légérement low than the line of back. It owes
frétiller in action.
*The paces are frank with much impulse. The cocker spaniel covers much
ground.
*The hair flat, of silky texture, is well fringed.
*The colors are varied: - unicoloured i.e. without white task (black,
red, black and fire, maroon etc…)

pluricolores i.e. with task white (blue, black and white, white and
orange, white and maroon etc…)
*The approximate weight is 12 to 14,5 kgs and the height with the
garrot is approximately 38-39 cm for the females and 39-41 cm for the
males.
*Defects: any variation compared to what precedes must be regarded as a
defect which will be penalized according to its gravity.
